Below is the City's decision on the application to partition the corner lot at 1735 NE Skidmore.
The Sabin LUTC has received a proposal for altering an existing garage at 1612 NE Klickitat to elevate it by approximately 18 inches, construct a new concrete garage underneath it, extend the structure to the rear (south) by 5 feet, and convert it into an accessory dwelling unit. The applicant is also requesting a modification of the east setback from 5 feet to 2 feet. This property is within the boundaries of the Irvington Historic District and therefore must go through the historic review process.

The Landmarks Commission modified the administrative decision to approve the proposal for a house and detached garage on the lot to be created by partition of an existing double corner lot at 2011 NE Siskiyou. A copy of the Commission's decision is below.
Below is the comment that the Sabin LUTC submitted to the City in opposition to the corner lot partition proposed for 1735 NE Skidmore.
The Sabin LUTC received notice that an application has been made to divide the corner lot at 1735 NE Skidmore. The owner intends to build two attached houses on the two new lots, presumably after demolishing the existing house. The Sabin LUTC has not received any demolition notice yet. The owner intends to remove a 34-inch diameter street tree as part of the construction.
We will be discussing this proposed lot partition at the LUTC meeting on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 8:30 PM, in the Sabin School auditorium.

The Sabin LUTC has received a historic review notice for 2011 NE Siskiyou. In a separate application, the applicants intend to split this lot into two lots. In the current application, they are requesting historic review of the new house and new garage that they intend to build on the anticipated new lot.
Anyone may comment on this application, and the deadline for comments is 5:00 pm on October 5, 2016.

Sabin's Land Use and Transportation Committee (LUTC) allows Sabin residents to discuss and address land use and transportation issues affecting our community, including submitting comments on pending land use proposals.
The LUTC meets at 7:00 pm on the first Monday of every month, at Whole Foods on NE 15th and Fremont, in the upstairs meeting room. Meetings in December, July and August are tentative, depending on the need.
