Due to the ice storm, Portland Public School has cancelled school and all evening activities in its buildings.  So, the LUTC will be unable to use the Sabin School auditorium tonight.  We will meet in our old location--the Mt. Bachelor conference room in the Whole Foods and 15th and Fremont.

The Sabin LUTC has a new meeting time!  We're going to start meeting at 8:30 pm on the second Wednesday of each month, immediately following the Sabin Community Association Board meeting.

Attached is the agenda for next Monday's meeting, which includes a special guest, Kendal Hansen of Lovett Deconstruction.

The LUTC discusses and comments on demolition notices, and has recently voiced support for the city's new deconstruction policy.  At next Monday's meeting Kendal Hansen of Lovett Deconstruction has agreed to join us and share perspectives on the deconstruction process.  This is a great opportunity for the LUTC to become more informed about deconstruction - how it works, how long it takes, what it costs, when it's suitable, etc.  We will also be able to learn more about the treatment of lead, asbestos and dust during any tear down process.  This should be an interesting and informative discussion and I hope many will attend.

We've just received notice that an application has been made for historic review and the modification of setbacks at 3424 NE 15th Avenue.

We will be adding this application to the agenda for the LUTC meeting on Wednesday, February 7, 2016, in the upstairs conference room at Whole Foods at 7:00 pm.
