Sabin Triangle Update

3/3/2012

A committed group of Sabin residents continues to work on transforming The Sabin Triangle, the southwest corner of NE Prescott and 15th Ave, into a community space for neighbors to gather.  Last fall, working with Architects Without Borders, we developed concept drawings for the space through a series of community meetings and events.  We have partnered with a volunteer project manager and developed concrete next steps to move the  project forward.

Create a long-term Master Plan: Using the concept drawings as an end point, develop a staged plan that is fluid enough to incorporate additional input from community members and businesses, and identify potential funding sources. Carol Senna and Francesca Blom-Cooper are leading this effort.

Programming: Continue to host events and activities at the site, providing the opportunity for community members to see the possibilities for the Triangle.

Community Outreach: Develop additional key community partners to participate in the creation of the Sabin Triangle, building on Sabin history and tradition. Hector Roche, Susan Glen, Carol Senna, Francesca Blom-Cooper are leading Programming and Community Outreach efforts.

Fundraising: Continue to explore funding sources. Gwenn Baldwin is leading this effort.

We will be reaching out to Sabin residents to assist on each of these tasks.  If you would like to participate in any way, big or small, please contact Hector Roche at hrroche@q.com. Join us for additional discussion at the upcoming SCA General Membership Meeting on May 14.
